Writer · Died December 15, 2017, aged 58 · Tokyo, Japan

Michiru Shimada (島田 満, Shimada Michiru, May 19, 1959 – December 15, 2017) was a Japanese screenwriter from Tokyo. She was a member of the Writers Guild of Japan. Shimada graduated from Department of Japanese Studies in Waseda University. In 1981, when she was in her third university year, she learned that Toei Animation would hire new recruits for the first time in 10 years, and she took the exam to become trainee director. Although she passed the exam with high marks, she was encouraged to write a script instead because the studio's policy at the time was not hiring women as directors. After that, she participated in many popular plays and continued his career steadily and successfully. On December 15, 2017, she passed away from a disease she had been suffering from since 2016. She was 58 years old.

Percentiles are each film's standing among all films on MovieCove; the typical film is the median, so one outlier cannot drag it. Percentiles and reviewer scores count the films IMDb credits them on, for now; the Midcredits score bands, the shape of the crowd and the two cards count their MovieCove titles, shows included (a show ranked among shows), appearances as themselves left out. A descriptor is the shape of a title's IMDb rating distribution against the catalog; "most divisive" needs a spread wider than half of all titles, and a card names only a principal credit: a craft role, and on a show a crew role or a run of episodes, never a courtesy credit or a one-off guest spot.
