Edward Walsh

Actor · Died December 15, 1997, aged 69 · New York City, New York, USA

Older brother of former child actor and screenwriter Joseph Walsh, the rugged looking Edward Walsh began his career on television in the mid 1950’s, eventually progressing into films by the late sixties initially using pseudonyms when appearing in a number of John Hayes’ sexploitation thrillers before he was cast as the title villain’s facially disfigured loyal subject in the unexpected commercial horror hit ‘Count Yorga, Vampire’ (1970) and it’s sequel ‘The Return of Count Yorga’ (1971). Roles in bigger budgeted Hollywood films soon followed, including ‘California Split’ (1974) written by brother Joseph, and the Walter Hill directed Charles Bronson fight club forerunner ‘Hard Times’ (1975). He went on to appear in dozens of television episodes through to the mid 1980’s before reuniting with Walter Hill for a further three motion pictures, including his final screen appearance playing a detective in the belated sequel ‘Another 48 Hrs.’ (1990).

Percentiles are each film's standing among all films on MovieCove; the typical film is the median, so one outlier cannot drag it. Percentiles and reviewer scores count the films IMDb credits them on, for now; the Midcredits score bands, the shape of the crowd and the two cards count their MovieCove titles, shows included (a show ranked among shows), appearances as themselves left out. A descriptor is the shape of a title's IMDb rating distribution against the catalog; "most divisive" needs a spread wider than half of all titles, and a card names only a principal credit: a craft role, and on a show a crew role or a run of episodes, never a courtesy credit or a one-off guest spot.
