Her most notable film credits include Elizabeth Anderson in Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008, with Brendan Fraser and Josh Hutcherson), TV Host in I'm Not There (2007, directed by Todd Haynes, with Cate Blanchett), Catherine Darcy in A Different Loyalty (2004, with Sharon Stone and Rupert Everett), Mrs. Henderson in Stonewall (2015), a Bartocci customer in Brooklyn (2015, with Joel Edgerton and Alicia Vikander), Harvard Mother in Brad's Status (2017, directed by Mike White), and Aunt Anne in The Death and Life of John F. Donovan (2018, directed by Xavier Dolan). On television she is best known as Sally Dawkins in Big Wolf on Campus (1999–2002, 13 episodes), with additional credits in The Dead Zone (1996, 1 episode), Red Creek (2017, 10 episodes), This Life (2015, 5 episodes), The Bold Type (2017, 1 episode), and Are You Afraid of the Dark? (1990, 1995). As a voice actress she provided the voice of Mrs. Barnes in Arthur (2000–2010, 11 seasons), and she served as ADR voice director on Blue Beetle (2023) and Deep Impact (1998).
