Arli Liberman
Arli Liberman is a screen composer, producer and guitarist who creates vibrant, immersive award-winning music for film, TV, multimedia and live experiences. Arli's distinctive approach of sound making enriches the world of story-telling by bringing to life emotional soundscapes, uniquely crafted for each project. As a screen composer, Arli has worked on a wide range of films, including Sam Kelly's gang movie 'Savage', winning the 2021 APRA award for Best Original Music in a Film. He scored 'Styebender' a documentary directed by Zoe McIntosh about Israel Adesanya, which was premiered at Tribeca Film Festival 2023, and was the composer for an eight-part documentary series about the history of Moko. Coming up in 2024, Arli is the composer for NZ film 'The Mountain', produced by Piki Films (JoJo Rabbit, Hunt for the Wilderpeople) and Sandy Lane Productions (Bad Behaviour, Juniper), which is being released in March. He is currently scoring the film 'Koka' directed by Kath Akuhata-Brown, and historical drama in Te Reo Maori 'Ka Whawhai Tonu' directed by Mike Jonathan starring Temuera Morrison, Cliff Curtis and Jason Flemyng. His signature sound can be heard on the 36th America's Cup theme, the opening titles of the FIFA Women's World Cup, The All Blacks Experience at SkyCity, and in the Auckland Art Gallery's filmic exhibition Te Mata. As a solo artist, Arli is releasing his fifth solo album with Bigpop Records in addition to creating a new collaborative album with renowned composer Rhian Sheehan due for a 2024 release. The album 'I Muri Ahiahi' of Ngatapa Black, produced by Arli, was nominated for Maori Album of the Year at the Aotearoa Music Awards. Internationally, Arli has performed at MoMA New York and at the Montreux Jazz Festival, among other international festivals. Born in Israel, Arli was a key member of Whiteflag Project - one of the first Palestinian and Israeli crossover bands. At that time, Arli's mentor, Platinum-selling English record producer Mark Smulian, urged him to "find the back door of the electric guitar sound". This marked the beginning of Arli's journey in developing his sonic identity, which seamlessly lends itself to the world of cinema and beyond.

Percentiles are each film's standing among all films on MovieCove; the typical film is the median, so one outlier cannot drag it. Percentiles and reviewer scores count the films IMDb credits them on, for now; the Midcredits score bands, the shape of the crowd and the two cards count their MovieCove titles, shows included (a show ranked among shows), appearances as themselves left out. A descriptor is the shape of a title's IMDb rating distribution against the catalog; "most divisive" needs a spread wider than half of all titles, and a card names only a principal credit: a craft role, and on a show a crew role or a run of episodes, never a courtesy credit or a one-off guest spot.
