Ros Gilman

Ros is a classically trained, award-winning, British-German composer, music producer, conductor and violinist, born in Russia. His work includes the HBO Original Series 'Folklore', major European broadcasters like ARTE, ZDF, France 5 and ARD, and independent films that have screened at Locarno International Film Festival, Fantasia Film Festival, Seattle International Film Festival as well as other Oscar- and BAFTA-qualifying festivals. Ros' portfolio ranges from large orchestral scores to intimate solo strings with electronics and solo piano. Trained as a film composer, concert violinist and conductor at the University of Music, Vienna and the Royal College of Music, London, Ros holds a Master's Degree in Composition for Film, a Bachelor's Degree in Classical Composition, a Diploma in Concert Violin and a Diploma in Music Business from the Music Business School, London. Ros' work has earned him numerous awards and nomination, amassed over 20 million streams on music streaming platforms, along with repeated editorial support from Spotify, Apple Music and Pandora. His music received airplay on major radio stations like BBC, NPO, and NDR, and appeared in national press such as BBC Music Magazine and The JC. Elisa Bray from The JC described Ros' music as 'atmospheric orchestral work reminiscent of Howard Shore’s Lord of the Rings soundtrack'.
