Ashani Roberts

Actor

Ashani Roberts is a formally trained actress specializing in complex characters that exemplify Stanislavski's famous quote that "there are no small parts, only small actors." Bringing depth and humanity to every role she inhabits, Ashani has had memorable turns playing a diverse range of characters, from a steely, overprotective sister in a biblical anthology series to a troubled heroin addict in a 1970s period drama. Trained at Ivana Chubbuck and Speiser Sturges, two of LA's finest acting schools, Ashani is a master of nuance, imbuing her performances with the kind of detail and authenticity that resonates with audiences. Flexibility is her calling card, and she counts Viola Davis, Taraji P. Henson, and Halle Berry among her influences. Recent credits include a series regular spot on Bounce TV's prime time soap Saints & Sinners and a recurring guest starring role on STARZ's gritty drama P-Valley. Ashani has also made appearances in dozens of TV series, spanning comedy, drama, sci-fi, action, and more. As an experienced stunt performer, Ashani has doubled for prominent actresses including Tyra Banks and Issa Rae. She is also the founder of ASHANI Inc, a corporation providing professional coaching services for actors and organizing charitable events that support the community.
